Guest guest
We have been invited to participate in a Baby & Parent Expo in Johannesburg in February 2005. This is an exciting opportunity to further publicise the Ponseti Method in South Africa. When I say 'we', the organisers contacted me via the website, and are referring to the 'Clubfoot association'. I think that the time has come to formalise my efforts to reach parents. I want to form an association with other parents, doctors, etc for Ponseti and clubfoot. Has anyone had experience in forming a 'clubfoot association' in another country? Any advice? Any ideas on how to set up a stand at the show? They are providing sponsorship, but I'm sure we'll be working with a low budget. I remember there was something last year in England. Maybe someone who was there could pass on some ideas. My first thoughts are to have a looped Ponseti demo video running on a plasma or TV screen. I also have a fantastic one from Dr Pirani about the Uganda project. Ponseti parents would help me on the stand, handing out leaflets, talking to interested parents. And of course I'd have there, running around on his beautiful feet! My husband has a consulting company in the Acoustic/Audiovisual industry, so his contacts should be able to provide the necessary equipment at no cost. The organisers have also asked if a doctor/s could give a demonstration or talk at one of their workshops that will run at the show. I'm excited about the opportunity to further publicise the Ponseti Method here and would appreciate any advice you can give me on how to make the best of it. and www.clubfoot.co.za
