Guest guest
Hi tte, My name is Pam. I have seen you post this question many many times. I have never responded to it because i really don't have the answers to it. My suggestion would be to talk to your WLS surgeon. In my opinion if you are worried about the pill not being as effective, try an IUD. Your OB would know alot about them. I know my mother had one for about 25 years or so and it was the only form of birth control that she used and it worked.( of course it probably should not have stayed in that long or at least been replaced.) I have had friends that have used the Depo shot but had a hard time trying to conceive again once they were ready to do so. So If you plan on having children in the future I don't think I would try that one. Keep in mind that NO--and I mean NO birth control is 100% effective on everyone. In saying that I am speaking from experience. I became pregnant 2 months after my RNY surgery Even after having my TUBES TIED!! Having had my tubes tied, I really thought that was the final solution--was I ever wrong!! Not only did I become pregnant but I am having twins! EDD June 21st. I am totally thrilled about it although it was definately not planned. I hope this helps you and i wish you the best of luck in finding a solution!!
