Hi,

Ive got a 6week old daughter and she is being treated in the UK

using the Ponsetti Method (Doctor is recommended Ponsetti one). She

has talipes of her right foot.

Her first two casts went very well and didnt fall off. However her

last three since these have slipped completly off!! Yes she seams to

slide her leg completely out! The casts are in perfect condition no

rips or anything.

One of the casts lasted about 27 hours! I put her to bed on an

evening and when she woke in the early hours, I picked her up and

changed her nappy only to find out the cast was missing!! I went

back to her bed and it was lying in it.

Im getting rather frustrated and worried, now as each time she is

left several days without it on due to it being the

weekend,christmas etc.

The first two were done by the Consultant (these stayed on), Due to

the consultant being on holiday, the other three were done by the

person who works closely with him and is experienced in doing the

casts.

Im wondering am I doing something wrong? But my baby isnt that

active as only 3weeks old when 1st one fell off! Could the other

person be doing it wrong? However another child (older 9months) has

been having them done and there cast never fell off.

Am I being awkward if I insist she has no more unless the consultant

assess's her foot and does the next ones?

Has anyone got any experience of casts repeatidly falling off in

such a young baby?

Any help and advice appreciated. Starting to feel like her foot is

never going to get corrected!

Thanks

Julzd and Aurora 6wks.
