Guest guest
I saw my OB yesterday and I truly think I made his day. My Mom is in town so she joined my husband and I at the appointment. I didn't need to go to the bathroom when I first got there so I was drinking and going to leave my specimen at the end of the appointment. As the three of us were in the room waiting for my doc we were all making jokes saying that my Mom should leave the specimen, and then joking that we should really confuse the nurses by having my husband leave the specimen. We were all laughing so loud that I guess you could hear us out in the hall because my doc opened the door and peaked in, giving us this look like, " Is there a party going on in here? " We then told him why we were all laughing so hard and he got a huge kick out our joke. LOL! On another note I showed him my tummy where all you awesome ladies advised me was a hernia and not some alien twin to my beautiful baby. LOL! He said yep, it sure was a hernia and a substantial on at that. He said that obviously we can't do anything about it right now and he thinks that it will have to be repaired with mesh and he knows just the surgeon who does WLS he wants to refer me too. I told him of the concerns my husband and I had, one being that this thing is going to majorly pop out while I'm delivering this baby since it really pops out when I bear down. I spoke to him about my physical therapist recommending binders and he said that would definitely be an option and all the particulars would be worked out with his surgeon college. I guess after the first of the year I will get all the particulars for the referral to the surgeon and get a game plan in place. I told my OB that my main goal is to try to keep the hernia from getting worse, which he said is probably not going to be an option, and that since I'm not feeling any pain I would like to keep it that way. He didn't really have an answer to that one way or another? So....what do you ladies think are my chances of this hernia starting to be a major problem? I have never had a hernia so I have had no experience with this. Until I see the surgeon do you think I should be doing anything special? I have been pressing on it and kinda holding it into place when I have been going to the bathroom just in case but I have no clue if this has been helping or not. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Axelrod
