My doctor has me take tylenol PM. I don't usually sleep through the night no

matter what. I sleep a few hours then I am usually awake from midnite til about

3 or 4 in the morning before I go back to sleep. But that is also why I took

early maternity leave so I don't have to worry about getting up at a certain

time. Hope it helps for you.

OTC sleep aids

Hello,

Has anyone been told of any over the counter sleep aids that are safe

during pregnancy? I am having an awful time sleeping. I think that in the

last 5

days, I have probably gotten about 5 hours of sleep total. This is driving

me absolutely crazy and not helping with the grouchiness and everything else.

Just wondering if anyone knows of anything at all that might help. I think

that I'm exhausted, but I get in bed and I just toss and turn for hours until

I

finally get up. I have tried all kinds of home remedies and nothing seems to

work for me.

Thanks in advance for any help!

ask your Dr if it is safe for you to take Melatonin. My 9yr old and I

both take it. You can buy it at Walmart (90 pills for under $4.00).

But be certain it is safe for pregnant women to use first!

you need to talk to your doc before hand, but mine told me to take 25-50mg of

benedryl at night to help me sleep.

Hi Dee, I've been having a horrible time sleeping as well and my doc

told me that benadryl is perfectly safe during pregnancy. Due to the

malabsortptive condition our surgery creates(DS/BPS) he recommended I

take 75 milligrams and it works very well for me. Hope this helps, I

know how horrible it feels to be tired all day :o) ~Amy in NC
