Guest guest
Hey Laurie, What did your first biopsy reveal? I am just curious. I have seen a bunch of posts and am getting really confused by all of this. Also when did you start seeing Dr. Simpson? Guest guest
I'm not which first you are referring to so I will just run them down. 1 - frozen needle, not looking for anything specific - considered normal 2 - frozen, not looking for anything specific - abnormal distribution of type 1 and 2 muscle fibers and some lipid deposits 3 - frozen, not looking for anything specific - abnormal distribution of type 1 and 2 fibers with poorly arranged muscle fibers (not in interlocking rows as expected) 4 - frozen, looking for something metabolic - diagnosis of CPT deficiency (carrier state) 5 - frozen, looking for something metabolic that made sense with family history - can't remember the name without looking it up, but a fairly common muscle disease (I had none of the symptoms) 6 - fresh done in Atlanta looking for mito- diagnosed with mito - complex I defect 7 - fresh done in Cleveland looking for poor mito membrane integrity like - membranes okay, but with I and II defect and functional II defect. I have been seeing Dr. S. for about 11 years, between biopsies 4 and 5. I was being seen by a peds neuro in MDA clinic before Dr. S. and between biopsies 3 and 4. Hope this answers your questions.
