Guest guest Posted October 11, 2004 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 I think I am the only person who had Genetic Counseling after my son was diagnosed with clubfoot at 18 weeks. For anyone interested in knowing, it's a counselor who you usually see at the hospital who goes over your family history and helps you to figure out how the baby's condition came to be. I think a lot of it is research based as no one really knows the what causes Clubfoot ( i.e. genetic, environmental, positional). But there is a link to some nuerotube (sp?) defects and MS as well as other things. They explained why and how and amnio would be done. After the doctor told me Christian had clubfoot, I had so many questions and no one to ask. She was very helpful to us and I am thankful it was offered.
