Guest guest
Tarsha, Let me suggest that you get some counseling. I am not saying this to be mean but the fear of getting fat again is very real and you need to deal with that fear. It is highly possible to have a healthy baby. My daughter was born at 6 pounds 3 ounces. She is currently a gorgeous three year old. Okay so I am biased. You need to deal with your fears though and counseling can help you deal with the fear of getting fat and of having a low birthweight baby. You will probably gain weight when you get pregnant -- that is normal. It could be anywhere from 15 to 35 pounds. That too is normal. But you need to realize that and accept it. You can't fight weight gain while pregnant because you need to shift your concentration from your weight to the baby. I know it is hard -- especially considering where we started but do try to find someone to talk to who can help you through that fear and figure out what you need to do to defeat it. Welcome to the group and I am sure other people will have even more advice for you. Rasley mailto: drasley@... Guest guest
I don't think you should worry about getting fat again. Look at how much you gained in your previous pregnancies and be realistic about what it's going to take from you to get back to your wonderful 115 pounds. I bet you don't gain as much as you are worried about. As far as a low birthweight baby, 6 pounds 14 oz. doesn't seem that small to me. That's 2 oz. away from 7 pounds. Sounds perfect to me. It just seems like you have small babies. Were they all healthy small babies?? Whereas I on the other hand have LARGE babies. Mine both were 9. 14 and 9. 4 oz. Now I think that's something to worry about. Ha ha. Seriously though, if you are truly worried about these issues I think you should talk to your dr. and do some pre-pregnancy planning. He can help you with both of those issues. I think you'll do great, you're just nervous. Good luck!
