Hi everyone,

I have posted before, but I wasn't TTC until this month. I'm hoping

for the best, and would LOVE to hit the jackpot on the first try, but

I know it might not happen. I'm in such a good mood today because I

called my ob/gyn's office to schedule my yearly appt. Before you

think I'm crazy, let me explain. I thought my ob/gyn, who I adore,

was not on my new insurance plan. So, instead of calling last month

to schedule an appt..., I waited until today. I was just putting off

switching dr's. As I talked to the scheduler, she told me that if

one dr. was on the insurance plan in their group they all were.

YEAH!!!!

My appt is not until June, unless I get pg, but I'm so happy. I was

really dreading changing dr's and now I don't have to. He's also

familiar with WLS patients - so, bonus!

I have been out of the loop changing seizure meds and am on one now

that I think will work. I left my old neurologist because I felt he

wasn't hearing a word I said. I used to be on dilantin, then tried

lamictal, and finally keppra. Never could get a reading on lamictal

and read recently that dilantin weakens lamictal. After losing

125lbs my labs were never checked and I finally had to insist they be

checked because of some problems I was having. Sure enough, I was at

toxic levels of dilantin. My dosage had not been adjusted since

having WLS in December 2002. I see my new neurologist at the end of

this month and am really hoping for the best. I am off the dilantin

and feel great! I had seen another neurologist earlier this month,

but he suggested I see someone that specializes in epilepsy. I

didn't know I had epilepsy. My seizures are so infrequent (1 in ten

years). I did have two in 1999 brought on by severe stress and I

wasn't taking care of myself. I learned my lesson and am taking

ready for this new stage in my life. My husband and I are hopeful,

but not trying to get our hopes up just incase it doesn't happen when

we want it to happen.

I've had the baby bug for a while, so the names have already been

picked out. But this is our first month trying. I was hoping to be

pg by my 33rd bday which is next month. That was my goal about seven

months ago...so, we'll see. I've pretty much had a preconception

appt with my ob/gyn at that time and started prenatal vitamins at

that time.

I really wish there were a WLS/pregnancy book available. I doubt

there are any books that even touch on the topic. I know something

that is so frustrating...the scale not moving. I've hovered at this

weight for a while...the scale doesn't move. I guess I shouldn't

complain too much, I'm still losing inches. ;-)
