Guest guest
That is kinda weird but maybe your doc is just being cautious because of the WLS. Wow, you are 33 weeks already, that seemed to go by pretty fast, at least from here it did, lol.. I think everything is okay with you and the baby or he would of been really upset that you have not been to the perinatologist sooner. I know it is hard not to stress it but try to relax and enjoy these last several weeks, it is almost baby time. Guest guest
, My OB had me see a perinatologist ONLY because I was over 35 when I would have delivered, not b/c of any of my other 90 some obstetrical complications (LOL). I saw him just once, he asked if I wanted an amnio to r/o any abnormalities and we declined and he said there was no other reason that we should see him again. Most likely this is just a *second opinion* visit that you are doing just fine. Sheila
Guest guest
Robin, Thanks sweetie for the calming words. I am definitely trying to focus on the positive as my blood pressure is great, 92/50, I don't have any swelling, the OB said that the baby's heartbeat sounded excellent to him, and my weight and when the doc measured my stomach everything is textbook. I just wonder what exactly the perinatalogist is going to do when I go next week, guess I will find out soon enough eh? Thanks again for responding . Guest guest
, My Doctor did the same thing to me at 32 weeks. It was my third pregnancy and the only one with out complications. When I told him he never sent me and asked why and was told because of my age he usually sends his patients. I was 36 at the time. My son was my largest out of the three. I gained 12 pounds. Guest guest
I was sent to a perinatologist since my 17 weeks and still going to him i will be seeing him for the 3rd time on monday for yet another level 2 u/s.. normally they send pts there who are high risk or over 35 yrs of age which im high risk and 35 my first pregnancy, its not a big deal to me to see him but its cool to be monitored closely..i will have to do the stress test too just not sure when i am 27 weeks today.. so probably soon.. good luck and im sure everything will be fine! > Saw my OB yesterday and as he was measuring me he asked me when was the last time I saw the perinatalogist (sp?) and I looked at him funny and said, " you never sent me to one, the only extra thing you have done is a extra ultrasound " . Because of this exchange my husband and I got the impression that he was thinking that he should have sent me weeks ago and since I will be 33 weeks on Wednesday that we are playing catch-up. I am my OB's first WLS patient plus I have other health problems that I have to take meds for so I'm guessing that is why he is sending me? He mentioned something about stress testing. I understand that some of you ladies have seen these specialist and if you could give me some input I would appreciate it. Hubby and I are a bit concerned since I am going at such a late time, almost feeling like its too late to do anything if they find something wrong. I'm trying not to obsess about this but we all know how hard that is! LOL! > Axelrod > > >
