Guest guest
, I wouldn't worry. He will crawl eventually. The " norm " is such a wide range of time on when they are suppose to do this and when they are suppose to do that. Similar to walking, some walk at 11 months, some walk at 15 months both of which are in the " average " for walking. Even if your baby doesn't walk in that time span doesn't mean anything is wrong, as well as for crawling. And remember, each of our children are different from other children in that they are working with a device(DBB) or casts that other children (where the milestone charts are derived from) don't have. For all of our children to hit each milestone at any age, whatever age it may be, is a huge accomplishment. Even rolling over. Imagine being small like them with this bar attached between their feet and trying to roll over. They figure it out eventually and do it! Next thing you know they are sitting up, crawling, walking, running. As we all celebrate each milestone so much more then others, because we can only imagine as parents how difficult it must be for them and how overly proud we are that they have achieved certain milestones already, whatever that milestone may be. (no such thing as overly proud, right?) Christian has done sooooo much already, he will add crawling to his list before you know it. Then again, he may never crawl and just walk instead. Baby's without DBB's have done that. Try not to dwell and be super proud of what he has accomplished thus far! (which I know you are!) does the army man drag. It is her way of getting around, and she is very fast! When people ask if she can crawl, I say yes. It is her way of crawling. Guest guest
Hello my name is and my daughter does not crawl either so dont feel bad. she just turned 11 months yesterday and well she has her own way of crawling. she sits with her feet in front (with her shoes on of course. she is still in her dbb 23/7) and she scoots or hops forward with her butt! It is so funny to watch! But she gets to were she wants to go! So dont worry every child is different and our children are special. I felt the same as you do because my son started walking at 10months and here my daughter is 11months and still isnt walking. But she has accomplished other things. for example she talked sooner than my son. So dont be discouarged, Im sure he will so it when he is ready. Or maybe he will walk and not crawl like someone else said. I just want to say " enjoy them right now because they so not stay little for long " . and BL CF 12/16/03 > Christian has been wearing the DBB full-time for more than a month now. Guest guest
My oldest child who does not have a clubfoot never really crawled on all fours. She would pull herself along on her elbows and pretty much went straight from that to pulling up, cruising and then walking. Kids are amazingly resilient and I don't think if he is hald back at all, then it won't be for long. Kelsey has taught me that with learning to walk while wearing that cast. He won't want to be behind for long. If you are really concerned about it, talk to your Doctor. Jenni Gerace wrote: >Christian has been wearing the DBB full-time for more than a month now. Guest guest
It might just take him awhile to figure it out. Elijah's done everything early, even earlier than the other 3. He started a lunge type crawl at 5 months and just recently at 7 months began crawling out of the brace. After about 2 wk of that, he now crawls with the brace. I attribute his doing everything early to seeing his older brothers and sisters. The girls 13 and 8, crawl on the floor with him, teaching him how to do it. Do you think you could talk into helping teach the baby to crawl? Lori and Elijah 7.5 months atypical RCF DBB 23/7 > Christian has been wearing the DBB full-time for more than a month now.
