Hi

Yes, it is the middle of the night. My next door neighbor's pottery studio

went up in flames. It is about 30 feet from my house. With my CPAP, I don't

know how long I was unaware of it. I know I hadn't been asleep very long. We

had 6 fire engines here and there are still 3 doing the final check on

anything that might be smouldering. They just taped off the area, so I think

they are getting ready to leave. The flood lights from the trucks lit up my

house like day. I have always been concerned about propane tank that is just

feet from the studio and closer to my house. Thank goodness it didn't go as

they had just filled it earlier in the day. We have a volunteer fire

department, so there were also lots of cars and trucks with flashers. I feel

badly for the neighbor. Her kilns are outside the studio, so they are left.

She is so good at her craft. I am going to go try to get some sleep, as the

flood lights have been turned off - just lots of flashing lights. I am very

thankful that there are men and women who protect us like this. It could

have been worse. Their house is only 6 feet from the studio.

--- I am glad everyone is OK and noones house caught fire. It is a

very good thing her studio is not attatched to her house. I just

started learning the craft of pottery on the wheel at the local art

museum. I have found my love. I am not very good, it takes a lot of

time to learn, but it is so therapeutic. I find it very taxing on my

body and I am going to take a class on porcelion. It is a much

softer clay and is fun to work with. Hope you get some sleep to

enjoy the holidays.

Merry Christmas,

Love,
