Guest guest
Jocelyn, Welcome to the list! What a way to find out you are pregnant! hopefully the nausea has abated and you can actually enjoy being pregnant. I know I loved being pregnant with my first pregnancy -- after the morning (noon and night) sickness went away. The name for your baby looks gorgeous -- how is it pronounced? I've been through Maine once -- drove from Bangor to Canada. I was impressed with the countryside. Only place I have ever been where along the interstate you see signs that say " Now entering Lot 45433 " -- and that is not a criticism. I LOVE THE COUNTRY! I am not a city girl by any stretch of the imagination. Are you still needing IV feeding? I hope not. Do they know what caused your nausea or is it the luck of the draw type of thing? Your tree sounds pretty -- what color are your clan tartan ribbons? And congrats on your business -- sounds like you have been very successful. How did you get started in jewelry design? Guest guest
Jocelyn Welcome and congrats on your pregnancy and weight loss! Your post hits home with me as I too have chronic pain problems where I have to take pain medication, if I didn't I wouldn't be able to walk or function at all. I have cut my medication doses in half since I found out that I was pregnant, which has been very difficult as it barely brings my pain to a tolerable level but I figure if I can handle it, its better for the pregnancy. Some days are pretty bad as pain and energy and emotion/depression are all so closely tied together. As I get further along with the pregnancy and my weight increases it is becoming more difficult by the day to do the things I need to do to keep my house up. What makes it worse is when I hurt my energy level drops, and when my energy is down I have a much lower pain threshold, and then I get sad/depressed/angry and some days end up crying. Thankfully I have a great pain management doc and OB and they really have worked well together to make this pregnancy as smooth as possible for me. My OB was especially great when I was so afraid in the beginning about my pain meds and possibly ending up bed-ridden because of the pain as the pregnancy progressed. He went over extensively with me the detail of each pain med I'm taking and how it would effect the baby, if it did at all. He also assured me that he had worked with many women taking the same meds that I have to take and that it was not going to hurt my baby. Are you working with a pain management doc? If you aren't I would highly recommend finding one as I have found that my medical care has become less stressful, especially since most docs are so afraid of dealing with pain meds since they are so strictly regulated. I also have insisted my rheumatologist refer me out to a physical therapist to design an exercise plan , plus do some massage therapy on me to help with the pain. I have been going twice a week and if I need to I can keep this up all the way till I deliver. On bad days I thank the one above to making it through and focus on the fact that I'm closer to delivering a healthy baby and getting my pain better under control and hopefully starting a new drug to better control my diseases. If everything goes the way I'm hoping I may even be able to get rid of my pain meds, that would be a dream come true! (as I'm sure you totally understand) Congrats again and keep posting!
