Guest guest
Toi, I had an amnio with my 4th child. They had flagged me for down syndrome. I asked if they flagged me for my age (37 at the time) alone or because of additional markers. Because there were additional indications, I had the procedure done...all was well...no defects. I subsequently had two more children and swore I would never have another amnio. It was painful, emotional and as it turned out, unnecessary. The week I spent waiting for the results was agonizing. Knowing I would do nothing should the baby prove to have a defect, what was the point? It's a hard decision that only you can make. Pray hard.
