Hi everyone My wls buddies keep telling me that I need to find a high-risk OB because I'm a post-op and that would be best for me. According to the FAQ on this group I really don't need one unless I am prone to pre-eclampsia etc.. But now I'm wondering if I should see one just to be safe....like someone who knows wls patients and their nutritional needs etc... Guest guest Posted February 18, 2004 Report Share Posted February 18, 2004 You don't need a Perinatalogist. But it would be good to find an OB who has treated WLS patients before. I had a perinatalogist with my second pregnancy (pre-op)and I thought I should return to him. But he told me he wouldn't take me on unless I developed a complication that required him to take my case. I am 32 weeks and I have not developed any problems. My OB is great she has treated other WLS patients before and knows how to handle everything with me (from little to no weight gain, to food consumption problems, etc).
