Guest guest
Actually I think Adam has every right to respond. Truthfully, I am a woman and I don't understand how any woman could want an abortion due to the fear of gaining weight. Truthfully if this woman is that afraid of gaining weight she needs intense counseling to deal with that fear. wanting to terminate to keep a nice slim body seems the height of vanity. If you do not want to get pregnant so that you can forever remain slim and trim, TAKE PRECAUTIONS! And if you really don't want to risk getting pregnant, don't have sex. But once you get pregnant, to come to a list and say that you are thinking of terminating because you don't want to gain weight seems very vain and shallow. In my belief this woman needs therapy to deal with that very real fear. Weight gain -- the threat is always going to be there -- however it is something that needs dealt with. Weight gain can and will happen during pregnancy however it is a minor amount -- the average is 15-20 pounds post surgery. And in exchange you get an adorable infant. The threat of gaining weight is present if you take all sorts of medications, eat too much, take in too many empty calories, and for a variety of other reasons. It is omnipresent. She needs to deal with a therapist to get past that. Rasley mailto: drasley@...
