question for parents of school age children

Everyone in here has provided me with such good advice thus far I need to

ask yet another question but this time about my soon to be 6 year old son.

He is a great kid and all around funny little guy (maybe he likes fun too

much). I got a note home from school saying that he hasn't been listening,

he keeps fooling around with the other kids and doesn't finish his work

because of this. He doesn't have any kind of attention disorder because he

can focus when " HE " wants to. I tried taking his computer away and TV etc

but he came home again today and I found out that he had a toy in his pocket

that he was messing with during Reading!!! What do I do? What harsher

punishment can I give? I don't want the class clown or worse the " bad " kid

in the class. I know that somebody on here had to have experienced

something similar to this and I would love to hear how you modified your

child's behavior. I know that this situation needs to be addressed now

because I am setting the stage for his academic future.
