Guest guest Posted October 15, 2004 Report Share Posted October 15, 2004 Hello! I just wanted to share my joy! Ava is in her last cast!!! Only 3 more weeks to go!!! I couldn't believe it when they removed her last cast--it had been 3 weeks since her tenotomy--it was an actual FOOT! With a heel & everything!!! So one more 3 week cast & into the brace! Just a side thought I had--strange to have 2 little Ava's with club feet on this group! My thoughts on the whole " stranger's comments " thing: I was amazed at how many people either had CF themselves, or knew someone who did. For the most part everyone who asks is very nice--just " Awww, did she break her leg? " I do get some staring & whispering, which is the most annoying. Of course, since I decorate her cast, I also get alot of " Oh, your baby lost her other shoe. " If anything, it's really taught me how to act around other people with disabilities, or how to explain to my 4 & 2 yr. olds when they see someone. (Of course, my 2 yr. old son thinks wheelchairs are the coolest!) Just be up front! Ask--don't whisper!! Anyway, that's my 2 cents for the day.
