, you've definitely come to the right place! The majority of the women

on this board have gone through exactly what you're facing now.

Aidan was diagnosed with bilateral clubfeet when I was 5 months pregnant. They

said they were concerned as it can accompany other diseases; Spina bifida,

Trisome 18 (fatal), Down Syndrome, etc... I too was petrified.

All other tests came back normal and he looked normal otherwise on his sonogram

and typically that is the case with most clubfeet babies, they have clubfeet and

that's it! Good News.

Basically, you have two choices here.

1. You can decide to dwell on all the what ifs and let it ruin your pregnancy

2. Believe it's just an isolated case of clubfoot (especially since everything

else has been normal) & enjoy your pregnancy to the fullest.

Personally, I would go with number 2, which is exactly what I did, after I got a

grip after a week of crying. Honestly, there is nothing you can do about it

right now but worry and that doesn't get you anywhere.

I came to this board when I was 5mo pregnant. I had no idea what most of the

women where talking about when it came to specifics of the treatment but I

started to make folders and categorize the points I felt where important

(Markell shoe information, information to prevent blisters and preasure sores,

info on Dr. Ponseti, info on e shoes, anatomy of the foot, etc...)

Don't try to break it all down now it will drive you crazy.

Now that Aidan is 4mo, we're about to try the shoes again and I've looked back

in my folders for info because now I understand. This is a great place to be.

The men & women on this board are wonderful and full of great advice. You can

share your concerns, fears, funny stories, or whatever.

Take care of you, chin up & ENJOY your pregnancy!!!! :-) Worrying is not

healthy for you or the baby. If you every need to talk feel free to email me

off line or give me a call. Know you are not alone. The good news is, this is

fully correctible.

Hello all, my name is and I am new to this group. I found

out last week that my son I am carrying (19 weeks) will have " club

foot " in his left foot and am petrified! I have been trying to do as

much research as possible to prepare myself. I had to get an

amniocentesis since they say there is a risk of him having other

defects, even though everything has been normal so far in all of my

routine tests. I wanted to know if there are any other defects that

he could possibly have? I have read that this birth defect is

correctable and that the majority of babies born with it are 100%

normal. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
