Guest guest
Hi everyone, This may sound a bit silly, but when we were away on holiday, I noticed 2 short-statured men (one American, one Australian) with their taller wives and lovely children. These men were noticeably, though not extremely, short - perhaps 5'2 " or 5'3 " . In both cases, the oldest teenage child (one boy, one girl) had already FAR surpassed their father in height. The American woman was just a little taller than average, while the Australian woman was probably at least 5'8 " or 5'9 " . It just gave me a little glimpse into what Tyler could look like in 30 or 40(!) years and made me realize that no matter what we do, he'll probably turn out just fine in the end. I am hyper-sensitive to it b/c of Tyler, but I doubt most people would have given these families more than a passing glance. It does sound strange to me even writing this that I would take such notice of it, but we don't know ANY men who are smaller than 5'6 " or 5'7 " (still taller than the average female) except people who have immigrated to NZ from a country where people tend to be shorter anyway. I would have loved to talk to them! As usual, while away on holiday we met many people who don't know Tyler - oh, the comments we had! He's tiny! I can't believe your boys aren't twins! Tyler definitely understands these comments now, but he's showing such great progress in other ways at the moment that it didn't worry us. We go back to the same place year after year, and many of the staff commented on how much Tyler has grown. Thousands of people stay at this place every year, but as soon as we got there, we could hear Tyler's name being called out - LOTS of the staff remember him! No one remembered 's name, so I'm sure it's something about Tyler that gets him remembered. (Tyler, age 4, 37 " , almost 25 lbs; , 2y 10m, same size as Tyler but heavier; Kelsey, 11 mos and catching up to her brothers quickly)
