Re: Artificial Sweetners during Pregnancy

I have used saccharine, splenda, and Nutrasweet during this pregnancy. There

was no Splenda during my previous 3, but I used the others during those

pregnancies as well.

As far as what I know about sweeteners there is no conclusive evidence one

way or the other about these, though there was a question at one time about

neuro disorders I think and that may still exist.

Honestly, this is JUST MY OPINION, but there are 50 million things out there

that can potentially hurt us all. Meat - growth hormones, blah blah blah.

Milk - see meat. Veggies - pesticides, growth hormones, blah blah blah. I just

think if we concentrate on doing the best things we can for the pregnacies,

avoiding KNOWN conclusive hazards, etc., and keeping our sanity - which for me

includes my hot tea with splenda, diet sundrop, and sugar-free lemonade - ,

then I think everything will be just fine and our heads will not be spinning

from worrying about every minute detail about pregnancy and child rearing, which

are stressful enough in and of themselves.

Of course, I'm sure you'll get some differing opinions, but that's what so

great about these boards. You can take what you like and discard what you

don't....at least you get answers than run the gammut.

Good Luck to your Daughter!! (BTW great surgical results for YOU!!!)
