Guest guest
Hi everyone!! My name is Melody and I just found out about this group. I'm really excited to read your posts and gather information from you. A little about my history: I had gastric bypass WLS on April 30, 2002, in River Falls, WI. It's been the best thing I've done for myself (next to marrying my husband on May 18, 2002...yep...just 2 weeks after getting out of the hospital). I've lost 150 lbs and I feel great!!! After getting the " green light " from my surgeon and after doing lots of praying, my husband and I have decided it's time to TTC. Before WLS I was always irregular with my cycles unless I was on the pill. (I went off the pill in Oct 2001.) Since surgery, I've been TOTALLY regular...until this cycle when I got AF a week early. I thought maybe I was having implantation spotting because it was like day 8 of high temps and my period wasn't due for another week and it was really, really light. Three days later I could tell it was my period. I'm still wondering in my heart if it wasn't a chemical pregnancy and I miscarried. I'll never know. Anyway, I had my yearly exam on March 3 and was talking to my gynecologist about everything. We've only been TTC for 2 months, but already I'm frustrated. My cycles look good (I've been charting for about 3 months now) and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting pregnant. I had heard how easy it is for people to get pregnant after surgery. So even though we've only been trying for a couple months, my gyn. suggested that I get my progesterone level tested since I was at day 20 in my cycle when I saw him. Well, I got the results back on Tuesday and it was only 1.8. So he prescribed Clomid. That's where my questions come in. Can I get some pros/cons from people who have used it? I've heard and read that it's a medication with few side effects, which is good, but I've also read that it can dry up your fertile cervical fluid. If that's true, how did you combat that?? Any information you can give me would be helpful! Thanks so much. Looking forward to " meeting " you! Peace... Melody
