Guest guest
Lori, It sounds like you are doing everything right. Don't worry that you are losing weight. Just make sure you are getting 80 - 100 grams of protein a day, eat every few hours if you have to and get in the vitamins. That's all you can do. I don't see a point to the shakes and if they have concerns about the baby's growth, then they should do frequent ultrasounds to check the growth. My midwives were shocked at the amount of weight I've lost during this pregnancy, but I said, " that's why I had the surgery, it's not something I can help and I didn't plan this pregnancy, all I can do it what I'm doing already, eating every 3 hours and getting in close to 100 grams of protein a day " . My baby is measuring big, the ultrasound tech actually asked if my dates could be off by two weeks. That's entirely possible since I don't have a clue what was going on with my cycles after surgery. All I can say is keep up the good work, you're doing just fine. Jenn - Mom to 7 1/2, Caroline 4 and " baby girl " due April 30th or May 14th 2004, who knows, she'll come when she done.
