Guest guest
To anyone attending the symposium, I just found out that Devlin's doctor from duPont will be at the symposium. His name is Dr. Shanmuga Jayakumar, and he goes by " Dr. Jay " . He is Indian (I believe). Oh, how I wish we could be there! If anyone gets a chance to talk to him and show him the benefits of true Ponseti treatment, please do so for Devlin's sake (and more importantly for the sake of any other babies who end up a duPont)! He really had no idea what he was dealing with in Devlin's case (atypical clubfoot). So, I really hope he learns something about atypical clubfoot (like recognizing and treating it properly!). I especially hope he learns not to abduct the forefoot unnecessarily and create the secondary deformity like what happened to Devlin. If anyone has the opportunity to help him learn, I really think you could have a great impact on the clubfoot community in the Philadelphia area by doing so. If you could also be my eyes and ears, I'd love to hear what you observe at the symposium. Thanks so much....good luck and have a great time in Iowa.
