Guest guest
Larissa, Unfortunately, Texas is one of the larger states that is currently difficult to find competent Ponseti trained doctors in. Fortunately, Hundley, one of our members, seems to have found a very good group of doctors in Austin. Here is a link to her recent post about switching from a doctor in San to Austin: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/nosurgery4clubfoot/message/26427 There is also a doctor from Michigan who recently transferred to the ish Rite hospital that had treated the Coburn family's son succesfully (in Michigan), who was following the method correctly. His name is Dr. Podeszwa. Perhaps some of the other parents from Texas will chime in with their information. Guest guest
Larissa, please give me a call and I'd be happy to give you the information on Dr Jay Shapiro's group. We're very happy. We met the Orthotist last Friday and he's been doing this for 40 yrs. He's been working with Dr. Shapiro for 15 yrs. He was great and I understand he really works with the parents in helping them understand how to work the shoes correctly. If you have any problems they'll get you in right away to help solve the issues. I know Austin will be a little drive from Houston, but I'm more than happy driving the hour & 1/2 for peace of mind! Before, I was driving 20 minutes for casting and wanted to cry everytime we left the office. I'll take the drive anyday. Plus, Aidan loves his car seat so he sleeps the whole way. Again, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to call! :-) Oh, appointments are every Friday. They do all castings and shoes on Friday. - jennyandkelly jenrichtrevillian@...> wrote: Larissa, Unfortunately, Texas is one of the larger states that is currently difficult to find competent Ponseti trained doctors in.
