Guest guest
, Your sleep study sounds exactly what my first sleep study. I had no stage 3 or 4 and less than 90 seconds of REM. My mito doc referred me to another doc for a sleep study about a year after the first study was done (which was done at another hospital), The second study showed (according the doctor) a severely deprived sleep disorder. He recommended that I start on on a regular routine (they call it sleep hygiene) like going to bed at a specific time every night, waking up at the same time every day and no naps. I try to do this but most of the time I either sleep late or go to bed later than I should. The second sleep doc suggested that my sleep problems are most likely connected to my early menopause. So I have pursued bio-identical hormone replacement. The hormone replacement therapy takes about 6 months to tweak the recipe and I am in my second month. I am feeling better and the hot flashes are deminishing...thank God. I do have neurological spikes when I sleep so I take Tegretol 2X a day and I take Klonopin at night...this has helped me sleep better as well. With your oxygen levels, I would probably see a pulmonolgist if you haven't already. Good Luck! Carol
