We had a check up with Dr. Dobbs on Thursday. He said 's feet

look great. He got a new pair of shoes. They weren't open-toed

though. For some reason the brace shop at Shriner's in St. Louis

does not want to provide those shoes for older children (money, I

don't know if that's why or what). They are still Markell straight

last, but they are like high top tennis shoes instead. seems

to like them. We spent the night that night in St. Louis. So glad

because when got up he had a red spot on each big toe. We went

back by the brace shop and they worked on the shoes and now they seem

to be doing okay. The only thing I can think of with these shoes is

we won't be able to see when it's about time for a new pair of shoes

and I hope he doesn't end up with athlete's foot or something since

these will circulate less air. Dr. Dobbs said he will keep in

his shoes until he is four. Also while we were there Dr. Dobbs told

us that he has isolated the gene for clubfoot. What an exciting

development. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Yay !! That is wonderful news. What's this about gene isolation

for club feet? Sounds very interesting.
