Guest guest
Hi, Jackie, >I'm sure I'm in this malabsorption subset. So what do I do? As far as B vitamins, there are a couple of different sublingual B vitamin formulations around. The one I use is call Sublingual B Total, from Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Inc. (800) 856-7040 I have no financial interest in them, but have found them to be the best & most affordable so far. Note that sublingual formulas cannot include thiamine (B1). Thiamine cannot be absorbed at the same pH, because it is a weak acid itself, and it turns out to shorten the shelf life of the other B vits if included in a combo formula. As far as I know there is no sublingual thiamine available - you would have to get Rx injectible form. I would suggest trying the sublingual B Total (GNC has an equivalent) & see if that makes a difference to you. If you know the smell of thiamine you might be able to tell whether you need that also, but be prepared to explain to your doc, as this is off-label and highly unorthodox use for it. Many of us are..the most common one we take is Aldactone..some also take Lasic if the Aldactone doesn't work. The basic diet with a decrease in SODIUM is what the doctor will tell you. But, it is important you tell them and show them you have edema...then they can prescribe the med for you. Also, try to wear socks that are not tight...get ones with loose elastic tops. Guest guest
Amy, I first want to say No, I do not push everyone on this list for a cure your the first one I ran across in 2 years that even stated they knew the cause of their childs Autisim thats what got me so interested in the first place. Its not everyday you see that on a post. Also I thought maybe if this Dr. found a cause he knew of a cure. I guess I was wrong sometimes the way people state things seems nasty or maybe its just the lack of mental knowledge in what they are doing or saying. I never said your daughter did not have a known cause or cure. Great for you ,and her no matter whats ever said or done the child is never to blame. I just wanted to clear this up because for some reason you seem so resentful to me. I really don't loose any sleep over it , but that thing that bothers me the most is how can you have an e-mail address like you do ,and seem so hateful? I do not claim to be or make my self look like I am totally reglious, although I do believe in God. You know what my sister is a missionary for Campus Crusade For Christ out of Ohio State where she graduated from I will have her pray for you that you become more understanding of other peoples comments , but at the same time look at your own! Sorry for any hurt feelings or mean intent at first it really was not there. I just never heard of someone knowing the cause of their childs Autisim ,and being so blunt and acting like we never had those test's done. I am not sure when your daughter was dx ,but Mine was a couple of years ago so I would like to think I know something ,and I am not a new comer to this group. Sometimes people need to listen , and not talk. I did for a while. This group has a great bunch of people , and its not meant for this stuff so I am done with this topic ,and I hope your daughter all the best in the world she deserves it! le(mother of Noelle in Ohio)
Guest guest
Ok girls, lets just try and get on ok.......i know we all can read different things into emails, and i too can do the same, and have done in the past. it is great if you can find the cause of Autism, for me, i just accept the blessings that God has given me, and one of them is my sweet Hannah, as we should all accept our kids. Lets just start afresh ok.....seems like the best thing we can do. Guest guest
Dannilyn- You're right, this list is not meant for the content of what you just wrote! If you want to post personal feelings/problems with things I've said, you are welcome to e-mail me off the list. The rest on the list have nothing to do with this!! Guest guest
Hi , I am a huge Pete fan, and I think it's wonderful to hear that you're spreading his TLC approach through your classes. What gets my blood boiling is how the approach that he's spent years developing and teaching so well can be OK in your BCIA-accredited courses and not under his own banner. I know that intellectual property is something that many people don't consider. As a writer (who has seen my exact words in another writer's magazine article), it's an area I am a little familiar with. If a publisher turned down my wowie-zowie article because he or she doubted my expertise but decided to publish another writer's rehashing of my research because his or her credentials were better, I would definitely consider it plagiarism. In fact, I also teach writing classes for large corporations and government agencies. I have put a lot of work into the workbook and other classroom materials I've created as well as the unique approach I use, which effectively changes the way people write after just one day of instruction. If I were to discover that some folks who had participated in my class had started teaching their own writing classes using my approach or had adapted my materials for their classes, I would not be happy. But that's just me. Pete is probably a better person than I. We are all interested in spreading his approach. But I thought I would raise the issue. As a BCIA-certified instructor, can't you speak on his behalf and point out that you're teaching his stuff? Wouldn't it be better if he were teaching it himself?
