Guest guest
Thanks for this reminder, Laurie. I usually check my profile online every couple of months, to make sure all the information is up-to- date. Having a MedicAlert bracelet has given my and my family some peace of mind, since I travel alone for business and have had to deal with mito crashes alone in unfamiliar cities. Guest guest
Theresa I'm glad the on-line changes works for you. Guest guest
I also check my profile on-line every couple of months. I am glad you sent out the e-mail Laurie, as I need to update again. I just got a new medic alert necklace. When I first got mine, the person wanted to put only the diagnosis on the necklace. Since then, I have had some severe reactions to medications that can be fatal. Some of these are ones they give frequently, so I had those put on my new necklace, along with the mito and we put " call for other vital medical information " . I was talking to my cousin who is a first responder, for about 13 years now. She is getting her EMT right now. She was talking to the volunteer fire department where she lives and they look for medic alerts, but rarely look in wallets or purses for more info, which is where have kept my medic alert card and other info. She said that putting the part about calling, would be a great help to paramedics. Smiles, a On Mon, 25 Oct 2004 23:47:26 -0000 " sygeek " reesanick@...> writes: Thanks for this reminder, Laurie. Guest guest
a Paramedics and hospitals should know to call the toll free number. After almost 50 years, you'd think they would know the system. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Mon, 25 Oct 2004 20:39:57 -0500 > To: > Subject: Re: Re: MedicAlert > > I also check my profile on-line every couple of months. Guest guest
Hi a, My husband has had a Medic Alert braclet for years. But when he first called the company they suggested that he add the following: " Call for more vital information " I believe they add this quite often since the amount of space available to write down medical diagnosis, reactions, etc.. is very limited. As Laurie said " They really should know by now to call to get additional information. I guess it varies from state to state. I don't have a Medic Alert, although I have thought about it many times. I just never got around to it. And I guess I had always hoped I would never need it, or that my hubby would always be close by to give the needed information.....wishful thinking on my part. Thanks for the reminder, I will put it on the top of my To Do list. Hugs, Ann-Marie Re: Re: MedicAlert I also check my profile on-line every couple of months. Guest guest
I'm curious to know if anyone has actually tried to change information in your online Medic Alert file. Many months ago, maybe as long as a year ago, we tried to enter changes in both diagnostic information and medication information, and the online interface would not accept or save our changes even though the page was supposedly setup to do that. It appeared to us that the interface was set up to allow only basic contact info changes and not medical information, at least at that time. We have not tried since, but have just called in any changes by phone. Has anyone successfully changed diagnostic or medication information online? How recently? Guest guest
Barbara If you are an Advantage Member (pay the $20 per year) then you are suppose to be able to make changes. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Tue, 26 Oct 2004 14:24:38 -0000 > To: > Subject: Re: MedicAlert > > > I'm curious to know if anyone has actually tried to change > information in your online Medic Alert file. Guest guest
Barbara, My experience with online Medic Alert changes: I tried a couple of months ago to make several changes to my Medic Alert online. Some of them it took others it did not (could not find in their database). I did get a call within 24 hours from a customer service rep. who went over everything with me and made the necessary changes. So it appears they are in some way monitoring the changes people are trying to make online. Guest guest
Tks, Kristie. This does sound like my experience, though no one called at the time. I will try again.
