I was just looking a new sleep sacks today, gonna need one soon!

Some ideas... I think some parents have tried infant " sleep sacks " ,

or " wearable blankets " .. zippered outfits roomy enough for the bar to

fit inside. I think they are designed for SIDS safety. Others I

believe just use heavier pjs and no blankets at all.

Glad things are going well so far!

OH Amy... the bar and the crib. I could write a book! So we came up with a

few things that make it less of a problem. First of all the sleep sacks cushion

the feet a bit and lessen the noise. Second, I put back up the crib padding

thingy (can't recall the right name at the moment - mommy brain) that you aren't

supposed to use any more along the bottom half of the crib. Finally, we took

receiving blankets that were extra, cut them in strips that wrapped twice around

the slats, took padding that wrapped once around the slats (really cheap at

Joann's) and fused them together using the sticky spray. Then we wrapped them

around the slat and sprayed the edge so we could fold over the blanket piece

making it stay. This wasn't as durable as we wanted so we then had to go back

and put velcro on the overhang to seal it against the slats but it worked.

There is still " air space " between the slats and yet they are cushioned at the

bottom end of the bed where she most often whacks them. Makes for more peaceful

sleep.

You know , the more I think about it, I bet it's the sides of her bar

getting caught in the sides of her crib that is waking her up, rather

than the blanket. We'll ask about the adjustable bar or if my husband

can cut off some of that additional length.

I tried those sleeper sacks w/ my first child and got up one night

and the top was up over her mouth and she looked like she was choking,

ever since then I've been a little weary of those. But, may have to

revisit w/ Sid.
