Guest guest
They want you to wait for 18 months but ( and this is just my opinion) I think 12 is far long enough. As long as you can eat well and drink well and get in all your nourishment and you feel well then you are ready to try for your baby. I would get that IUD out and forget about the patch Just my opinion though HUGS, ROBIN, NY Age- 41 Due Date- #4 July 27th, 2004 OPEN RNY 10-18-02 378/246/170??? Guest guest
Kris, I had my surgery October 2002, so I am now 15 months out. At my 6 month post-op check-up my surgeon sadi that all my blood work looked good and so if I wanted to go for a pregnancy, to go right ahead. Two weeks later I developed anemia. I went on iron and about a month and a half later I pulled my IUD. and by the time I was 9 months post- op I was pregnant. I am now almost 30 weeks pregnant (due April 11, 2004). So the best advice is to ask your surgeon or doctor (who ever's care you are under now) how they feel about your blood work and if they feel your body is ready. But then again how do you feel? Do you feel like your back to pretty much normal? If so don't worry about the BC patch. Guest guest
Thanks for the answer. My labs are really good at the moment, they weren't for a while, I was also anemic. My doctor here in town thinks it should be fine, but like I said, haven't asked my surgeon. He's 6 hours away and over a mountain pass, and it is winter, so don't want to go see him and ask, lol. I will be getting my labs done again in a month, so... Ok. Thanks again for the answer, and wow, April, thats so close!! Good for you!! Guest guest
Was it painful before loosing the weight? Mine wasn't so I figure thats why it is now. The using it right and still being pregnant thing is what I'm afraid of, ok, afraid and um, kinda hoping for at the same time, that way I can say oops, well, it was an accident. And of course, try to keep the big glowing grin off my face. Let us know what your results are. Thanks for your response. Guest guest
I agree, I think a year is enough. And hubby really wants a baby too, so I have him on my side. I feel great, I'm not at goal, but my weight loss has stopped for a while, so I'm not too worried there to. Now to see what he thinks of going without the patch. Thanks for your response. Guest guest
Kris, I had my RNY on 10/16/02 and became pregnant at 9 months unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage of tne with triplets. I am now 14 weeks pregnant and feel great except for the tiredness. I say if everything is fine with your labs and your OB feels you are healthy then I would give it a try. Good luck and best wishes to you. Let us know. DE RNY 10/16/02 Katelyn 6/94 Miscarriage w/triplets 9/03 EDD#2 8/2/
