Guest guest Posted January 20, 2004 Report Share Posted January 20, 2004 Hi, This is my introductory post. My name is Adam. My wife's Name is e. A little background on the both of us. We had Gastric Bypass Surgery on April 7th 2003. We are 9 1/2 months into our surgery. I was weighing 394 pre surgery. To date I am at 280...I am at a plateau. e was at 380...she is now at 255. We have been married 2 years and one day...Our 2 year Anniversery was yesterday! we have been activly trying to conceive since we got married with no luck. e never had a period in her life, EVER! she is 23. So we figured she didn't ovulate. we saw a specialist in September. I know we were suppose to wait at least 12 months after surgery to get pregnant but we figured it would take awhile anyway because we did not know if their was anything wrong with her. The first round was Clomid 50mg. for 5 days. We took ultrasounds and everything. She ovulated beautifuly. No Baby. Next cycle we upped it to 100 mg. 5 days w/ ultrasound...no good. The third month we tried 100mg. for 8 days because she was responding so well...nothing....all this time I was telling her and the doctor to put her on progesterone because I put 2 and 2 together. Hello No period EVERRRR no progesterone....simple right....well the 4th month wich was last month we switched to the shots, Follistim...she didn't respond as well to that as the clomid but it was an " O " and I insisted she be on Progesterone...the doctor put her on prometrium Vaginally the day we did IUI. we got the call on the 22nd of december, which was the day befor her birthday...we were pregnant...Man I so could be a doctor!!! so now we are 9 1/2 months post op. and 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant...We did an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and we saw the baby...that is a good thing...most of the time you cannot see it that early and we also saw the heartbeat...they said a very good heartbeat at that stage is 100hpm....our little one had a heartbeat of 122hpm!!!!!!!! My Boy is STRONG!!! I say it's a boy because that is what we want...but we don't care...so any input anyone can give us about getting pregnant this early we would love to take...since the pregnancy she has lost at 10 lbs...thanks for the ears everyone...
