Guest guest
Just wondering if anyone was going to chime in on my post below...it was important enough for me to ask. I go back to the OB again today and wanted some info from you ladies..... ( > > For those of you that had children prior to WLS and are now pregnant post WLS, do you feel more weak? I am incredibly weak, and only slightly over 11 weeks pregnant. I get all my vitamins, drink my water, get all my protein in and get my B12 shots religiously. Guest guest
Jacque, I did not have a baby prior to WLS so I can't help you out. It could be because you have had surgery and your body is different. Rasley mailto: drasley@... Guest guest
Jacque-I guess I did feel more tired in the 1st trimester w/ this one, but my 1st baby pre-op was an easy pregnancy. I wasn't sick w/ him hardly at all, and of course I napped when I could but I didn't have any other kids then and that was a luxury!!! I had gullbladder problems w/ this pregnancy (that's how we found out we were expecting, the day of surgery!!) but as soon as that came out in the 2nd trimester I felt so much better and had a really good 2nd trimester, lots more energy. Hopefully you will too, have you had much morning sickness w/ this one? It may just be your body still trying to adjust and will do so more in the coming weeks as your 2nd trimester starts. I'm in my 3rd and very tired but that's just my body getting me ready for those 2 am feedings I guess! Good luck and hang in there! L Re: Weakness... Guest guest
Jacque - I have not had a baby since WLS but I can tell you that I battled low blood sugar when I was pregnant. My advice is to try snacking if you are not doing so. Many surgeons have their patients stick to 3 meals a day and that may not carry them through a pregnancy. I was always tired in the first trimester as well, and each pregnancy is different, so you may have completely new problems this time that have nothing to do with the WLS. Guest guest
Jacque, I have had 2 pre WLS babies and this go round I have been more tired, but don't feel half as bad as I did with the others. I had horrible morning sickness, so maybe that overshadowed how tired I really was. Your fatigue could just be totally related to the pregnancy. As long as your eating well, getting in your water and vitamins, you should be fine.
