Guest guest
Oh yes! I was where you are and I didn't ovulate. I had surgery in 2001. My periods went back to normal after I had lost some weight... and now that I'm down to around 160, I got pregnant! I probably could have gotten pregnant in the 300's because I know that I was ovulating then (I could tell by the difference in the way I felt with my periods). Good luck to you! I'm 19 weeks and expecting my first in June. Dee

Guest guest
It is possible to get pregnant in your 300's. #1 Hormones have changed as a result of your weight loss & if your periods ae normal that is a pretty good sign that your are ovulating. I was 330# before surgery and could not get pg becuase I was not ovulating and had early signs of PCOS. I have lost 150 lbs and now my periods are regular & am trying to concieve. Be careful if you are not ready becuase I have heard that your fertility really increases with weight loss (something about hormones being storred in our fat cells, we loose the fat and the hormones are left fluttering) Good luck! Guest guest
, I'll assure you, you can get pregnant in your 300s! When my son was born I was 398 lbs, and I *lost* weight with him because I had such terrible morning sickness. When I had my WLS in December 2002, I weighed 375 lbs. I got pregnant three months later. I was just over 300 lbs at that point. I lost 24 lbs during my pregnancy and now have a one month old and am down to 264. Amazing thing is, I had VBG, not a bypass! Since my daughter's birth, the weight is melting off. Ya gotta love nursing! Best of luck, it is possible! Guest guest
, I am one of those who never had a normal cycle. In fact, I never had one except when I took birthcontrol and when I quit taking them, I did not have a cycle again until the week I came home from having my surgery. Then I had it every month. The only thing I used for b-control was condom and didn't even use it every time. Nine months post op I became pregnant. So if your cycles are normal now, I would bet you would be able to get pregnant even at your weight. I had always been told the reason my cycles were messed up and I could not get pregnant was because of my weight but I also now several women who were 100 pounds heavier than me who were fertile myrtles. It just depends on the person. So if you arent ready to get pregnant yet, you had best be using something. Guest guest
Yes it is possible to get PG while in your 300s. If you have PCOS before surgery it is very likely that it resolved yourself. PCOS can cause infertility (some symptoms are abnormal or nonexistent cycles as well as anovulation. How far out from your surgery are you? Rasley mailto: drasley@... Guest guest
Yes, you can. I have PCOS and even before my WLS I lost 35 pounds on Weight Watchers and ended up pregnant w/ my son. Yes, I did have ovarian drilling along w/ that in Sept. and got pregnant 6 mos. later w/ him. So, I imagine you can chalk that one up to both items. I got pregnant really quickly this time 9 mos. after surgery after I'd lost 120 pounds. I had a wonderful pregnancy w/ my 1st even being heavy. This one has been a little troublesome w/ leg and back pain and tailbone pain, my due date is in 1 week so thank GOD for that! Good luck and keep us updated!
