We have been called on by our local orthopedic doctor to assist a family of a young girl (13) who was recently paralyzed after a Scoliosis surgery. She had a tragic complication 48 hours after surgery. Since last week I have spent many hours in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at our local hopsital. I arranged for the media to become involved at the request of her family. The local NBC affiliate aired a story on her Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Foundation is actively pursuing fundraising for this family. The father has recently lost his job and this family of 5 have received eviction notices. They need an extremely sophisticated wheelchair for this beautiful girl that will not only support her, but also carry her ventilator. They need a new van and new place to live that will support all of the electrical needs of a paralyzed child on a ventilator. Seems like a huge undertaking, but the Foundation is dedicated to helping this family. If any of you know of any company or individual that may be of assistance, please let me know.
