Guest guest
Hi Kim, and congratulations. I was sick 24/7 for a good 2.5 months. I'd vomit any where from 1-3 times each evening and feel nauseated all day long. I found that if I ate several small meals a day instead of waiting to only eat during my designated 3 (breakfast/lunch/dinner) meals I felt better. I ate less and having something in my tummy helped. I believe there are medications out there for severe morning sickness, but for me the small, frequent meals (and a few soda crackers and flat, diet soda) helped me to at least tolerate the sickness. Toi > Hello all.....Im 1.5 year PO from LAP RNY. I am about 7 weeks > pregnant and am soooooo sick . Guest guest
Hi there Kim, I am sorry you feel sooo bad--I totally understand! Thankfully with this pregnancy I have no side effects of being pregnant besides my tender breast (my poor hubby) and the daily bloating that I get. I am totally ok with this b/c its NOTHING compared to my pregnancy with my daughter. I was sick from day one with her -- I swear! I didn't even know you can get morning sickness that early. Everyone said it would go away after 3 months--mine didn't--they lied to me--lol. At first my Dr just shrugged it off as " the normal pregnancy morning sickness " . He told me to eat crackers. Yes it worked--NOT!!! He took my serious when my husband drove me to the hospital. I could not stop throwing up -- we thought something was really wrong. My head hurt, my back hurt, I gagged all the time, my tummy hurts from throwing up 27/4 and couldn't hold anything down--all I could do is cry. You wouldn't believe how clean my toilet was--I had to stick my head in there all the time--I wasn't going to go a day with out it being clean. I was sick even to the day I was admitted into the hospital for my scheduled C-Section but because we put our foot down it wasn't AS bad. Everyone kept joking that my brat just didn't want to UNnoticed or that she was just warning us (early) who was the boss. It wasn't too funny--believe me--it wasn't. The hospital sent me home with B6 - 25mg pills twice daily and unisom. I was a little bit better --- I still felt ewwwie and still kept throwing up. They told me to start taking my prenatal pill in the evening after dinner instead of the morning. I sceduled to see my Dr that week. My Dr finally took us seriously when we told him we went to the hospital. My husband told him something needs to be done BEFORE we leave the office. Thats when he pulled out his little pad and he wrote me a RX for Zofran. Oh my goodness--I was still gagish at sometimes and threw up maybe once or twice a week--instead of every hour like I seriously did before. It was so nice to be able to watch a movie with out running away every 15 minutes. I am thankful my husband and I put our foot down. Your Dr can not deny you propper care -- he will brush it off unless you tell him its unmanagable and ask for him to do something to help you. I hope this helps--don't play down your illness to your Dr. Let him know you can't handle it and if he doen't help then ask him to refer you to someone that will. I know that sounds harsh but as long as you do it professionally there is no harm done. Believe me--you will get somewhere! Hope this helps-ita. Guest guest
Hi Kim, I had horrible morning sickness for the first 8 monthes I was pregnant with my son...I had to take lots of medications that got me through the day and made it so I could not throw up. Guest guest
Kim, Hi. I experienced horrible morning sickness in both my pre and post-op pregnancies. For most this goes away after the first trimester. For me, it lasted the entire 9 months. I was dicussing it with my OB (as we plan to ttc at the end of the year), and he said that a prescription medication Zofran is helping woman with bad morning sickness emensely. Talk to your OB about it. Hang in there, I can definetly sympathize. HI Im new and sick Hello all.....Im 1.5 year PO from LAP RNY. I am about 7 weeks pregnant and am soooooo sick . Guest guest
Hi, I noticed you are a new member, welcome. I have a question that you may be able to answer. What type of birth control did your weight loss surgery md. recommend. I was wondering if the pill was as effective or is there a better choice out there like shots or IUD's. Thanks -------------------------------------------------- HI Im new and sick
