Last week I passed blood clots and blood with no cramps. They did an ultrasound

and saw that our baby is doing well with a heart beat of 147 beats per minute.

I read an article last night that says if they can see the heartbeat then you

are more than likely to have a live birth.

I was put on rest, no sex, and no stress. I see my new Ob-gyn this week.

I will say a prayer for you.

Spotting Normal??

Hi All -

Well Saturday night, I spotted a little - so being a first time

pregnant person - I went straight to the emergency room - the docs

looked at everything and said it looked okay - I had no cramps and

just a small amount of blood (the size of a half dollar) - I have an

appt. on Thursday where they are to see the heart beat - we are 6

weeks conceived so that makes me eight weeks pregnant - shouldn't they

be able to hear the heart beat by then?? My due date is July 28th -

they said not to worry as I haven't had any more spotting at all - no

discharge and no cramps - has anyone else had any similar

experiences?? and what is it usually? Thanks - Have a great day - Jennie

Dear Jennie at 8 weeks pregnant it is too early to hear the baby's

heart beat on doppler but your dr should be able to see it on

ultrasound. The other test they can perform is a blood test to see

what the pregnancy hormones are doing. The test is called a Bhcg in

Australia. Usually 2 blood tests are taken a few days apart. If the

pregnancy hormone level is increasing the pregnancy continues. if the

pergnancy hormone is dropping it usually mean a miscarriage has

occured. Our thought and prayers are with you. I hope to hear good

news after your next check up. keep posted.

They will be able to see the heart beat when you go, I don't know if they can

hear it. I am due on the 27th and I go tomorrow for my ultrasound to see the

heartbeat. I have spotted for my pregnancies and when I was prego for the

twins I bled bright red for a week, I did not even know I was prego because of

the

bleeding and I was 10 weeks, LOL. It is very common to spot so try not to

worry, I know easier said than done. Our prayers are with you and your baby.

Jennie,

When I was in that 5-6 week pregnant window I spotted just like you and when I

called my doc they said it was implantation bleeding and was totally normal, but

they ordered a ultrasound to make sure everything was alright and make me feel

better. I am now 22 weeks pregnant (tomorrow) and everything is fine, haven't

spotted once since that one day.
