Oh how cool! I hope you and Kelsey have an uneventful night and everything

goes smoothly from now on. I can hear how happy you are with her foot, it

must b such a relief after so long without this kind of correction. I'm

thrilled to hear it's going so well!

Bye Bye Kelsey cast

Well, kelsey's 3 week cast came off today and her foot is so

beautiful. It looks a little odd because of the amount of

overcorrection but she is doing great. Dr. Von Stein was extremely

pleased because her foot was up to 25 degrees in flexion and she said

that she would have been happy with 15 degrees. Kelsey is now in her

DBB 23/7 and so far has been doing great. She was a little fussy

earlier today when first trying to maneuver around in the thing but she

quickly figured out how to stand and crawl in it so that got better.

Her leg was pretty dry and yucky from being in the cast so when she took

her bath tonight, I put a ton of lotion on it and it seemed to be doing

better. She has been asleep now for 3 hours and went to sleep with no

problems. Her shoe on the bar is set to 70 degrees out and she is doing

great. I cried when I saw that foot bend today. It is the first time

since her birth that I have seen that move without causing her pain.

The old Dr. used to force that foot up and cast it and it was so painful

for her. I pray that those painful times are behind her. Thanks for

all of the support. Hopefully, I will get a good picture of her foot to

post here soon.

Excellent! It seems all that discussion about the outward rotation of the cast

was for naught!! 25 degrees of dorsiflexion is phenomonal! I don't even think

I have 25 degrees and I do not have clubfoot. LOL

Glad to hear that all is well and here's to continued ease of use in the FAB!!

Send on those pics! I would love to see fer little tootsies!!

I know what you mean. When got his last casts off, I just

sobbed when I saw his feet propped up on the table at a ninety degree

angle. I've never seen anything more beautiful, except when he popped

out into this world! hehe! That's awesome! I am so glad Kelsey is

adjusting so well. Enjoy the easy transition for diaper changes now

that you can hoist her legs up at same time, boy can they squirm! hehe.

Congrats!

That is wonderful news!!! Here's hoping to continuous success with the

DBB. It sounds like Kelsey will adjust quickly. I'm glad you finally

found the right doctor for her! Yay!!!

My son just got his 3 week cast off on Friday and seems to be

adjusting as well. I know what you mean about her skin. I had some

of the concentrated vaseline gel someone had given us and it got rid

of the dry skin immediately. It pretty much peeled off. Good luck

with everything!!

Thanks everyone. Kelsey slept her normal 12 hours last night without a

peep. Woo-Hoo!! This is so much easier with the shoes this time than

before when her foot was not corrected. I am very happy with how she

has been doing. My mom was with us yesterday when the cast came off and

I thought she was going to kiss Dr. Von Stein. It was a great moment.

The next day on the calendar will be February 28 when we go back to Dr.

VS to hopefully reduce her hours so she can get back on her feet and get

mobile. Thanks everyone for caring and for supporting us. It helps a

lot to know that we are not alone.

Jenni & Kelsey,

Congrats! I don't know why, but it's kind of neat that Ava & Kelsey

started the DBB the same day! I guess it's kind of like being born

the same day, just a crazy coincidence that makes you

feel " connected " ! Sorry, I'm a hormonal tart these days :-)
