on his ankle area or on the soles? Wrinkles or actual creases? If it's

wrinkles on the ankle and even lower on the outside of the foot that's

extra skin from when the foot was uncorrected. It should tighten up over

time. Creases on the soles are a different story and you might want to

take a pic and send to the pics list for other parents to look at. It

might be normal, but a lateral crease in the forefoot often means atypical

(goes across the foot, creases up and down from toes to heel are somewhat

normal IIRC).

If you mean creases in the skin this is because the foot was turned

in and the skin stretched accordingly. Now that they are turned to

a " normal " angle the extra skin is creasing. From what I have read

from other parents it will go away as they get older.

When my daughter finished her casting with Dr. Ponseti she had a very defined

crease on the outside of her foot (unilateral) that had not been there at birth.

She's three now and no sign of a crease at all, just a perfectly straight little

foot. I wouldn't worry too much, but keep an eye on it. I think with time

you'll notice it disappearing.

questions about creases

My son has very defined creases on the outsides of his feet.Could

this be because they are turned out and when he has his hours reduced

they can relax and maybe this will go away.he's 4 1\2 months 23\7.Has

this happened to anyone else?Does this sound like there's a problem

or that their not being corrected properly?I haven't had any problems

with the shoes there tied tighly they don't slip no blisters or red

marks............thank god........just these creases

Thank You in advance

Jen,

That sounds like what Livie had. I just sent some photos to the clubfoot pics

group for you of her foot.

foot point your toes straight down and where the highest part of your arch is go

accross your foot and the crease is on the other side making it on the outside

of his foot going up and down (not pointing to his toes)i wii look and see if i

have a pic

I hope this makes sense

thank you

Jen,

You have to be a member at CFPics to get the emails and see the photos. The

address for CFPics is http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/CFPics

I believe that should get you there and then you have to sign up and be

approved. If you want to do all that I can resend the photos so you can see

them. Or if you want to give me your direct email address, I will forward them

right to you.

Let me know if you're interested in seeing them!

Jen... are u sure they are creases and not " extra skin " from when his feet were

turned in? has a lot of extra skin and the dr. said he will eventually

just grow into it as his feet grow.
