Guest guest
Hi all I remember asking if we can still get heartburn but I couldn't find the post where anyone responded to it. My doc said that after wls we have very little stomach acid in our pouch (that explains why throwing up isn't as awful as it was pre-op). So my question is - has anyone here experienced heartburn of any kind? Aaliyah

Guest guest
I have had heart burn and then found out I had an ulcer. (which are becoming pretty common for WLSers) My heart burn started about a year out and found out about the ulcer at 2 years out. Now my Dr is telling me that although it is uncommon there are some of us that have acid glands in our new pouches and there isnt anything they can do for that other then prescribing protonix which stops us from producing the acid.
