Laurie,

I am so upset and sorry to read of your very depressing week. How very sad that

lives have been lost. And that children have lost their father, their life-line.

It is so sad to think that these children now only have their mother who most

likely can't care for them or take care of them b/c of her own mental disease.

And the cafeteria worker who lost her life on the way home. Your whole community

is feeling the pain and loss of these wonderful people. I am so sorry for your

loss.

The lady who does your grief counseling at the school, where her twin boys hit

at the intersection that killed the cafeteria worker at the same time? Were both

the boys and her involved in the same accident? This is truely so sad.

And I am so sorry for you. Your community is small and like you said everyone is

either related to each other or knows each other, so the impact and loss of

these people have touched everyone. I pray that you will be able to handle the

stress, and loss of the people that you knew and had a bond with.

I would imagine that it will take a long time for the chidlren at school to

emotionally get through this loss.

Praying for you and your whole community.

rough week-NMR

Hi friends

This week at school has been one of those you don't want to repeat. I've

been quiet as a result. Sunday evening, the father of 3 students in the

school district was killed in an auto accident. The middle child is one of

our emotionally impaired students and dad was her life line. The mom is

mentally ill. This is a very small community with only around 900 students

in the entire school district. It is a community where everyone is either

related to or knows everyone else. Then yesterday one of our cafeteria

workers was killed on her way home from the school. I really feel for our

counselor. She has been doing grief counseling all day, every day this week.

Her twin sons were both hit at the same intersection that the cafeteria

worker was killed at. Both of their accidents caused minor injuries, but it

has got to be in the back of her mind. Just needed to let you know what has

been up.

Laurie,

so sorry to hear of such a rough week, blessings go out to all.

Seems to be a terrible time right now. At my daughters middle school last

week a boy in her school went into surgery for a minor operation and suffered

heart failure on the operating table, he didnt make it through, then this

week another boy 13 woke in the morning with terrible pain and called for his

mom and when she got to his bedroom he died from a anyurism ( sp ) in her arms.

such terrible tragedies..my heart goes out to everyone suffering such

terrible loses..

hugs Laurie...

Thanks for your lovely post. I don't live in this small community, but have

been part of the schools for 6 years, so I feel a connection.

The counselor's twin sons were hit at two different times - one last year

and one the year before. It is a bad intersection out in the country with a

stop sign in one direction and not the other and hills to boot.

Thanks for your caring,

Thanks for your caring.

I hope your daughter and all her classmates are having some grief counseling

at school, for the loss of these boys. It must be really hard for students

to loose a classmate, much less two. I will keep this school (students and

staff) in my thoughts.

My thoughts go out to their families, how tragic.

I don't know if it's possible, but could someone invite some local

officials (state Representatives or Senators) to memorial services

(maybe at the school, not private ones) so maybe the intersection

could get fixed? I'm sure it's been tried before though, if it's

like around here :(

Our town of 2600 has a interstate through it, and the exit is one of

the worst in NJ. They finally changed it to increase the visibility

and width of the roadway - now there is a separate lane for a good

ways, and many warning signs and reflectors. The number of

fatalities has decreased tremendously (in fact, I haven't heard of

one in two years, when they fixed it, and there used to be 10 or more

fatalities (and many accidents) per year). I think they only fixed

it when like 6 people died in one multi-vehicle crash on the exit.

Take care,

Me too . Middle school is a very difficult time for kids anyway

with all the changes physically and emotionally that they are going

though. I hope your daughter is able to talk to you about it.

I hope that this intersection will get some attention.

I'm glad they fixed your interstate. They did something similar about 3

miles from me and it hasn't stopped all the accidents, but it certainly has

helped.
