Ok- I need help here from you guys if you can.

We're trying to get Branden a new wheelchair. He's been denied a new one

twice already. The initial time and then the appeal were both denied so we

are at the third phase here. The reasoning is that the one he has can be

repaired and with the way wheelchairs are made nowadays they should last

between 8 and 10 years. That would mean potentially Branden would be 14

before he got a new chair because he got this one at 4.

This chair we've had problems with since he had it about 4 months. Between,

the motors, batteries and the joystick (3 of them) we've had more troubles

than it's worth. He also is in a lot of pain from sitting in this chair.

We did request one particular chair, but I've given up the fight for this

particular chair. It is the most appropriate chair for him because it

lowers to the ground and also raises up 9 inches from the base, but they

don't feel he needs a new chair at all (not even a new seating system).

Here's where I'm hoping someone might be able to help. I'm hoping someone

out there has or has had a Quickie that they have had problems with or if

you know someone who has. If you can e-mail me privately I'd appreciate

it. We have decided that going to the next level is needed, but there's

only so much further we can go before we are at a dead end so I'm hoping to

get some help from others here.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Cindy,

Sorry I can not help on the end about problems with a particular chair as I do

not have one. But, have you tried the approach that this chair will cost them

more in the long run since it has had so many problems already?
