Guest guest
Hi Jen, I hope is feeling better, do all the kids have it or just him? Let me know if you find any of the products the mommies mentioned, I would think we would have them in Canada. I haven't had to deal with a cold or cough yet but would be interested in what works for you guys. I do have an asperator and am not looking forward to using it, it looks medival hehe!! As to leaving is bar off for a bit longer, I wouldn't think 30 min. would make much difference. If you were talking hours maybe but minutes I don't see how that could make a huge difference, especially since he is less than 2 weeks away from reduced hours anyway (YEAH!!)! Once again, hope your little guy feels better! & Grace ) > > HAS ANYBODY LEFT THE BOOTS AND BAR OFF FOR LONGER THAN SUPPOSED TO? > JUST WONDERING BECAUSE I HAVE THREE CHILDREN ONE WITH CF AND TWO WITH > OUT BUT I CAN GET BUSY WITH THE OTHER TWO AND BY THE TIME I GET BACK > TO MY BABY WITH CF IT SOME TIMES HAS BEEN A HALF AN HOUR LONGER.HAS > THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE AND DO YOU THINK THIS COULD CAUSE A BAD > OUTCOME?IT DOESNT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME JUST ONCE IN A WHILE. > > THANKS > JEN AND ALEXANDER

Guest guest
I totally understand. I have 3 as well and my CF baby is the little one. Which is why I often just didn't take them off. It was easier to leave them on for me. And I don't bathe infants daily either. It's not like they get dirty. I would try to just do the hour if it were me, but I'm sure a half an hour won't cause great harm. I just would err on the side of caution if I had to make the choice and if it got to looking too busy with the other children I'd just not take them off rather than deal with getting them back on late. Guest guest
Jen, I doubt in the scheme of things if a half an hour or so here and there would cause any long term problems. Half a day, maybe.....but ya, it's hard to be totally militant about the timing. If you get them on late, just try to leave them on that much longer before they come off again. s. HAS ANYBODY LEFT THE BOOTS AND BAR OFF FOR LONGER THAN SUPPOSED TO? JUST WONDERING BECAUSE I HAVE THREE CHILDREN ONE WITH CF AND TWO WITH OUT BUT I CAN GET BUSY WITH THE OTHER TWO AND BY THE TIME I GET BACK TO MY BABY WITH CF IT SOME TIMES HAS BEEN A HALF AN HOUR LONGER.HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE AND DO YOU THINK THIS COULD CAUSE A BAD OUTCOME?IT DOESNT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME JUST ONCE IN A WHILE. Guest guest
if you do have to use the aspirator (aka booger sucker, haha) it really does help to swaddle the child very securely, otherwise they'll be kicking and hitting so much you'll end up poking it in their eye, mouth, ear,..... every where but their nostrils. Last winter I'd swaddle Everett and then lay him on the sofa against the back of it so he couldn't swing his head side to side. It's gross but it really does help since they can't blow their own nose yet. s. I do have an asperator and am not looking forward to using it, it looks medival hehe!! Guest guest
Makes sense...she hates being swaddled but so does my cat and I have had to do that a few times to give medicine, swaddling her will be much safer I think LOL! & Grace > if you do have to use the aspirator (aka booger sucker, haha) it really does help to swaddle the child very securely, otherwise they'll be kicking and hitting so much you'll end up poking it in their eye, mouth, ear,..... every where but their nostrils. Guest guest
YES, it happens!! That hour goes by SO fast and I also have two other children who keep me quite busy and distracted. I took to setting the timer on my stove (doesn't shut off unless I hit a button) so I would have to stop what I was doing to put 's shoes back on. Obviously you wnat to do the 23/7 becasue it's important but I don't think a slip occassionally is going to ruin the treatment. If I went more than just a little bit past the hour, then I wouldn't take them off at all the next day. Guest guest
JEN AND ALEXANDER, I can relate, I only have one child, but have a zoo at home; 2 Bulldogs, 1 Chihuahua and 2 Parrots - not to mention the house, chores, and hubby who helps a great deal with it all. I've come across at times that I've let just a few minutes go by, but my suggestion would be to set a TIMER. Even the alarm clock or whatever works. I've been thinking of doing that - it's not like we forget, it's just we get wrapped up in our routine. I know I do. I use a timer alot - for many things....hope that is a good suggestion. frogabog frogabog@...> wrote: I totally understand. I have 3 as well and my CF baby is the little one. Guest guest
Jen, I'm sure that it has happened to many of us on occassion. What I tend to do if we're 'late' getting the brace on is to keep it on for that much longer at the other end (ie., if I'm supposed to get it on at 7pm but it's closer to 8pm when it goes on, rather than take it off at 7am the next morning, I'll leave it until 8am.) Hope this helps, Daiga and Owen, 02/04/03 Unilateral LCF, FAB 14/24 > > > >HAS ANYBODY LEFT THE BOOTS AND BAR OFF FOR LONGER THAN SUPPOSED TO? > >JUST WONDERING BECAUSE I HAVE THREE CHILDREN ONE WITH CF AND TWO WITH > >OUT BUT I CAN GET BUSY WITH THE OTHER TWO AND BY THE TIME I GET BACK > >TO MY BABY WITH CF IT SOME TIMES HAS BEEN A HALF AN HOUR LONGER.HAS > >THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE AND DO YOU THINK THIS COULD CAUSE A BAD > >OUTCOME?IT DOESNT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME JUST ONCE IN A WHILE. > > > >THANKS > >JEN AND ALEXANDER > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
