what is an D & E? when u have a miscarriage do all women have to have this?

i called my doctor but cant reach her so i will contact her on monday.

D & C

Dialation and Cutelege (BAD Spelling)

If one does't pass all the tissue.. a D & C may be performed.

It is an outpatient surgery.. and the uterine walls are scraped.

My mothers friend used to call it a " g and Cleaning "

Usually your Dr will do a transvaginal U/S to see if all the tissue has

passed.

its called a d&c and no not everyone has them, if it exspells on it on its

not needed, when i had mine i was i could go home and when the baby came out to

bring it back to the hospital and i couldnt imagine seeing a formed fetus and

dealing with that on top of the miscarriage so i asked for the d&c, sometimes

it depends how far along you are, sometimes you just start bleeding like a

period and dont even know the difference. sometimes your body just reabsorbs

everything. talk to your doc about your situation.
