Guest guest
That is excellent. I am glad to hear that they actually decided to get off the high horse and listen to parents and Dr. Ponseti! YAY!! I bet your persistance helped to save others from a bad experience with duPont. YAY! Great going!
Guest guest
Oh , that's terrific news for future clubfoot patients at duPont! Slowly, slowly, the tides will turn! Thanks so much for the update! Guest guest
Speaking of Dr Jay.. He was 's first doctor.. I have to thank Daiga for inviting me to this group. I probably wouldn't have left Dr. Jay.. and after I read your story I'm sooooooo glad I did!! -------------- Original message -------------- Hi Everyone, You may remember my long rant about our meeting with the head of ortho. at duPont and how the guy was SO anti-Ponseti (message #23240). We wanted so badly for them to consider getting some true Ponseti training and the guy basically laughed at the idea that they had anything to learn about club foot treatment. He said so many negative things about Dr. Ponseti; I was really depressed about the parents who may have to go through what we did by taking their child to duPont. Many of you said you would write him a letter. I put up my " our experieces at duPont " website and have just moved on with getting Devlin's best possible treatment (I STILL want so badly to make the time to update the website to include the good stuff---everything that's happened since). Well, when we were in Iowa on Monday, Dr. Ponseti told us that Dr. Jay ( " Dr.Shanmuga Jayakumar " , Devlin's doctor at duPont) will be in Iowa in 10 days for training in the method. HURRAY----HURRAY----HURRAY !!!! I assume he's attending the symposium. Oh, how I wish we could be there! So, to those of you who wrote letters or spread the word: maybe we accomplished something after all! Maybe, just maybe, we affected the decision-making process of the pompous ass (Dr. Bowen) who thought they had nothing to learn from Dr. Ponseti. I'd like to believe we had something to do with it. I really hope and pray that Dr. Jay learns something, especially about atypical clubfoot. I'll make a separate post asking parents who will by at the symposium to try and make an impact if they can. Good job everyone!!!

Guest guest
, That is wonderful my son was treated by Dr. Jay at Dupont when he was born, we see Dr. Herzenberg now at Sinai. This isn't Dr. Jay's first training session on the Ponseti method as far as I know. I think he has sat in with Dr. Herzenberg at Sinai from what I remember but then still went back to Dupont and did his own thing like he did to our son. Hopefully someday he will be convinced, at least he is taking the right steps. It is so wonderful that you got your word spread!!!!!! Guest guest
Awesome! Maybe you should send him a kind, encouraging letter now. s. Maybe, just maybe, we helped (re: duPont) !
