Guest guest
couldn't handle the swing with the casts because of their weight. She handled it okay with the bar but really enjoyed it without either. However she started catching the swing legs so we had to put it up. I have tried slings and she does okay but I worry because her feet seem to get too cold so I used the bjorn carrier until we were able to have her shoes off most of the time. It's easy to use because you don't have to take the shoes off to get her in it. It comes completely undone so you can use it with the bar on. The shoes are more like sandals and since they are the only shoes we've had I can't tell you how they differ. Here's the site where sells them - perhaps it will help you. http://mdorthopaedics.org/ Chris Swing/Snuggli/Sling Hello everyone I have a question about swings, snuggli's and slings?I was wondering if anyone uses any of these with the FAB? My little guy loved his swing when he had casts on but ever since he has been in the boots and bar he can only go in his swing for a very short time because the weight of the shoes and bar seem to cut off the circulation and he get's fussy and his little legs get cold. Does anyone else have this problem?I haven't even thought abought trying the snuggli that just seems like a hassle.(take the bar off then put it on after the snuggli)I don't know seems like alot of off and on to me. I also have one more question can someone tell me the difference between the s and the Markells. And are the measurements the same (heal to heal or bolt to bolt) Thank You Jen and
Guest guest
Jen, Get a Baby Bjorn to carry him in instead of a snugli. You don't have to take the brace off to put him in it, you just set him on top of it, pull it through his legs and button it up. Very easy. That is what I used with my daughter. I don't know why you are having problems with the swing. Rose LOVED the swing and spent many happy hours there with her brace on. It never seemed to pull at her legs. Maybe your baby just gets tired of the swing after awhile. Guest guest
We fortunately found a swing that accomodated the dbb/fab because the top came off (tray) and he could be set in to it, then the tray snapped on with out removing the shoes. As for carriers, I used a sling - they are very versitile in the positions you can set the child so generally you can work around the bar with it. s. Guest guest
Hi Jen, Same thing happens with Grace's legs, I just make sure to pull her sleeper down (hard sometimes as she is growing out of everything so fast) as much as possible to keep her legs warm, has helped. The swing is a lifesaver, I was told it would be my favorite baby accessory, in fact I bought the swing before anything else. We don't use a sling, I carry her or she is in her stroller. I think I have a pic of the 's, I will send it to ya. & Grace & Grace > > Hello everyone > > I have a question about swings, snuggli's and slings?I was wondering > if anyone uses any of these with the FAB? Guest guest
We have the Fisher Price Aquarium swing, I don't know the exact name of it but it goes side to side or back & forth. The tray in front comes off, and the seat is very supportive. I don't know how to describe it, but it's like the letter " C " so her feet are up--like a lazy boy recliner. She's very comfortable in it, that's where she takes most of her naps. I know alot of swings don't hold the legs up as much as this one. Maybe you could find something with a more supportive seat? Or put a rolled up blanket under her feet? I also always wrap her up in a blanket. And her carrier is a Snugli, but it opens all the way, so I can just put the front support between her legs & then pull it up & buckle it without taking off the DBB. It's funny, we were just saying how fortunate we were to have picked that one--I bought it before she was born & before we knew she had CF!! But she loves it, especially now that she can face forward & look around. She doesn't seem to have a problem with the weight of the DBB. It was one of the cheaper ones at Baby Superstore. , mommy of: Guinevere, on, Ava 8/4/04 right CF DBB 23/7 > > Hello everyone > > I have a question about swings, snuggli's and slings?I was wondering > if anyone uses any of these with the FAB?
