Guest guest
It seems that even with the enzymes I am having trouble with soy. I gave my son two waffles made of soy flour from the health food store with two peps, one ZP, and one half NF w/gse. He still had a reaction to it. Also tonight at a soccer party he had one rice krispie treat (soybean oil margerine), a few pretzels also with his sandwich. He was having a very good day and after having this he became almost slapp happy. It seems that with each time he is getting soy he is having trouble. We had papa murphy's pizza last night and I saw no reaction. The pep seems to be working fine with the gluten and caesin but not as well for us with soy. Can anyone help me figure this one out? There are still a few foods my children cannot have, even with enzymes. So I would say your son is probably similar, and the enzymes do not help him with soy. Guest guest
This may sound like a really stupid question so bare with me... but what symptoms are you children exhibiting to make you able to pin point that its soy or corn? I hope that makes sense... Thanks a bunch! Lillian (trying to get it right - Philly area) [ ] Re: I have a question about Soy! > It seems that even with the enzymes I am having trouble with soy. Guest guest
He may not be able to tolerate soy, even with enzymes. I think you are certainly giving enough! Soy is one of the most allergenic foods worldwide. He may have a true allergy to it. soy is a related to peanuts, another highly allergenic food. (http://allergies.about.com/library/weekly/aa061499.htm) One thought would be to try using just one Peptizyde and maybe 1 No- Fenol, or 2 Zyme Primes with soy. He may be having a reaction to something in the soy besides the protein portion. Some people have difficulty with the oil part, or maybe the fiber is hard to break down. Maybe you can test different forms of soy (fermented, oil, etc). Any fermented product could trigger a yeast reaction (silly laughing or behavior). I would be interested to see if the No-Fenol helps at all. Even if you just avoid soy, this is much easier than eliminating 15 other foods at the same time. . I hope that makes sense... My children do okay with corn and soy, but there are other foods they still cannot have. I introduce new foods one at a time, and wait a week to see what happens. They will begin to regress [either diarrhea or stims] after several days if they still do not tolerate that food. Dana
Guest guest
Thanks Dana, My son is in constant stimming mode and pretty much only eats bananas, apples, corn, rice and soy products. I'm getting ready to add the no-fenol for a suspect sugar intolerance. Any other ideas? Guest guest
, Thanks for the reply. Yes what you said makes good sense he did come back from the elisa with a 3 on soy and peanuts. I still have avoided peanuts, even with the enzymes because I have been afraid of the reaction. Peanuts were his worst enemy. I thought that he could handle soy better with the enzymes than he has. It does seem to be the oil form that he is having more trouble with because certain soy things ex. taco seasoning he has no trouble with. He does have trouble with the soy based margerines. Since he is such a yeast candidate, what you said about the fermented oil makes sense. The silly type of behavoir is exactly what he experiences. Luckily it wore off overnight. He had a great day no silliness, good focus. I will try your advice and up the No-Fenol and zp with the pep. If it does'nt work I should still count my blessings that he can eat so many more foods now with no reaction. He just ate regular past and cheese again tonight (no reaction)! Thanks again for all your help! Sally > He may not be able to tolerate soy, even with enzymes. I think you > are certainly giving enough! Soy is one of the most allergenic foods > worldwide. Guest guest
No question is silly or stupid. I feel like I am wondering in the dark all the time. I know it is soy that is causing him problems because I with the enzymes he has corn chips every day and I see no reaction but each new time I give him soy he exhibits these silly behaviors. Hope this helps some. Sally > > It seems that even with the enzymes I am having trouble with soy. > > > There are still a few foods my children cannot have, even with > enzymes. Guest guest
Hi Sally, Thank you so much for your reply! So basically to avoid formal testing for EVERYTHING just do a trial and error, add and remove. Makes good sense. You guys are the best! Lillian (Philly area) [ ] Re: I have a question about Soy!
