Guest guest
OMG, Congratulations woman. that is sure a shock after having tied tubes. I bet the are identical then since the chance of 2 eggs coming thur are slim unless your tubes came untied, lol. WOW, how excitng. I have twin boys who will be 8 May 1st. It is awesome. They were my first unexpected pregnancy ( I was told I could not have any) so mine were a HUGE surprise too. I had a very easy time with them, they did come 6 weeks early due to my water leaking out, I did not get the bedrest they told me to get, so was probably my own fault but they were perfect at 3#10 and 4#10. They were soo small and sooo cute. I was scared to take them home. I don't know about what you can do after GBS except to eat the best foods you possibly can as often as you can. Get in all your vitamins and minerals and rest as much as you can. your life is surely going to change, at first it is tiring but once those littel ones sleep thru the night or most of it it all gets wonderful. I used to wake the other up and feed him too to get them on the same kind of schedule. I would hold one and prop the other up in a bouncy seat or car seat and every time I burped one I would switch and put the other propped up and hold his brother. It works out, you will find what works for you. Good Luck and I can't wait for all your updates CONGRATULATIONS HUGS, ROBIN, NY Age- 41 Due Date- #4 July 27th, 2004 OPEN RNY 10-18-02 378/246/170??? Guest guest
Pamela! OMG! Congrats to you!!! I don't have any advice to give regarding the pregnancy, but speaking as a twin myself, I can't imagine life any other way. Of course there were some tough times and hard feelings that were twin specific, especially when friends and family gave us presents to " share " , that sucked, but I know my sis and I have a special relationship because we are twins, I consider myself very lucky. Congrats again to you and your babies!!! Axelrod I'm having twins! I posted last week on here for the first time. I was concerned about my pregnancy because I had RNY 5 months ago and had had my tubes tied and still managed to get pregnant. I went for my ultrasound today and It's twins!! I still cannot believe it. I am so worried and anxious and in shock. I need some encouragement and any advice i can get about twin preganacies and RNY. Does anyone have any info to share?? I would appreciate it. The responses I got last time were so nice and it really eased my mind. Thank you all for the support that you all give. Guest guest
Congratulations on the twins! I am 20 wks with twins. I found out Christmas Eve we were having a boy and a girl. It is very overwhelming when you first find out. I am still freaking out. But so far so good. I just turned 32. I had RNY 12/02 so I am a year post op. I had lost 120 pounds and still have 30ish to go. I have had no morning sickness :-) I have gained 11 pounds so far and that terrifies me. I hope it is normal? I cant seem to get out of the frame of mind to lose lose lose. So when I get on those scales and see a gain uugh, scares me. I have bought all the twin books(on ebay) I can find to read. This is my first pregnancy so I am clueless. But here we go!! We will have to keep in touch throughout. EDD 6-23-04 w/twins boy and girl I'm having twins! Guest guest
She has some great advice in this post... keep the babies on nearly identical schedules for your own sanity. Trust me -- it works! Only now are they wanting to change routines from each other, but a little tweak here and there and they're getting back to being in-sync again. Best of luck with your pg, and, speaking as a mom of 16 month old twins, it gets SOOO much easier at about 4 months. Just try to get as much help as you can those first months. I didn't have any family around, but luckily, DH was quite helpful! I'm only 5 months post-op with the duodenal switch, but I'll be going back in December for the rest of my embryos (we went through IVF to get pg) and twins and triplets are at the forefront of my thoughts right now. It's going to be sooo much better having twins now then it would have been if you were heavier. I reached a high of 304 pounds with my twin pg, and that was only a gain of 45 pounds. (I measured 43 weeks along at my 34 week visit, then had the babies at 34w5d.) Congratulations to you!!!!!!!!
