It was funny this weekend it was really nice out so we decided to go

to the Pumpkin Patch and get our pumpkins. We were ridding on a

wagon out to the field and I had Tori in a stroller. One guy asked

what was wrong with her feet, I got worried and was looking all over

for her foot to have slipped out of the brace or something. It

looked ok to me so I said " nothing it's ok " then I realized he was

talking about the brace. Duhh It has become so normal to me that I

don't even notice it anymore. I remember being so conscious of the

cast in the beginning. How time changes things.

I also wanted to give some reassurance to those starting this

journey. My daughter is 8 months old and rolls both ways, stands in

her bar holding on to things and crawls on her hands and knees all

over. She is way far a head of where my son (non cf) was at this

age. We had problems with doctors, casts, and braces and I know we

have a ways to go yet but what a joy my daughter is to me. I

wouldn't change a thing.

Tori 1/30/04 bilateral atypical cf brace 18hrs

12/7/01 non cf
