Guest guest
Hi , I have no problems answering questions about breastfeeding. It's completely natural. The problem I had was in the hospital....The nurses were used to dealing with normal sized women. You know just sit up and have baby in your arms....like you see all the time in movies and public. But the problem was my fat was in the way and I had just had a c-section so sitting up was not comfortable. My breasts went up to a size 50DD-52DD right after I had my son. The way I felt most comfortable was laying on my bed and having my son beside me. I laughed cause my breast was bigger than my sons head. The only time my son had a hard time latching on was when I was engorged - but I think he would have had a hard time even if I was " normal " sized. I brought a pump with me in public because I was not comfortable breastfeeding in public. This baby I plan to breastfeed again and am so happy that I am so much thinner! I can be " normal. " Ha ha! I was shocked into silence. I can't believe some of the things people think they can say because you happen to be bigger. I also remember how I was treated because I was 317 pounds when I had my son....the comments by the nurses about my breasts when I was trying to breast feed and such. It was really not nice. I don't want to go into victim mode here but I think most medical professionals need some sensitivity training....! Chrystal
